Some of the worlds biggest pop culture icons joined the tens of thousands of marchers, floats and party goers at the 40th anniversary of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.
The parade had a stellar line up of celebs in, on and around the floats as they celebrated Marriage equality up Oxford Street - the traditional home of the Mardi Gras Parade.
Spotted by the POPrepublic.tv crews were:
1. Maxi Shield (Drag Superstar)
Maxi was leading the BERESFORD / ABSOLUTE float - surrounded by amazing marchers and a very sexy side kick.
Maxi was also spotted with SBS TV Parade host, Ursula Carlson!
Oh she makes me laugh.... I’m sure she didn’t know what to do when a big “Boobed” drag queen jumped on her.. thank you for the photo @urzilacarlson @maxisms @wigsbyvanity #maxishield #maxishielddragqueen #maxishieldmoment #unapologeticbitchmaxi #dragqueen #sydneydragqueen #gay #gaysydney #dragqueenmakeup #drag #queen #makeup #ofordstreetsydney #photooftheday #instagay #instadrag #dragplussizemodel #funnydragqueen #mardigras2018
2. Dannii Minogue
Dannii held court atop the NETFLIX float - along side stars from Orange Is The New Black, looking stunning in a glittery silver outfit... she was so amazing, interacting with parade goers in the marshaling area and hanging with as many people as possible! Pictured below with the gorgeous and very sweet Heath Keating (SYTYCDA)! (What a gal!)
3. Casey Donovan
Casey was a part of the mental health organisation, R U OK float. Along side RUOK ambassador, Craig Mack and a bevvie of body positive, diverse boys and girls - all glittering in yellow black and gold.
4. Ian Roberts
The spunky footballer and marriage equality and LGBTQI rights advocate was part of the NRL float - along with other supporters from the Rugby League.
5. Kyle and Jackie O
Spotted, of course, on the KIIS FM float - the radio duo interviewed Cher and spread some kisses up and down the parade route along side DIVA co-chair TINA TURNON.
Headliner of the party, the one and only CHER was spotted here with Drag icons Minnie Cooper and Charisma Belle.
43 Drag Icons from Sydney's history and Bob Downe Perform in the midnight community show.
CHER! yes - CHER! comes in and does the 2am show... if you couldn't get into the hall, there were screens all over to see the show - or you can watch it here.
