Ok, its a whole new website and a whole new world for POPrepublic.tv, so to help you navigate through the all new site and also to answer some questions you may or may not have, here is our quick and easy guide to some topics you may want to know about – this page is always the first stop before asking our team directly – as we may have already answered your question here.
Why Can’t I Log In to the site?
If you have subscribed, but didn’t click on the link in the email sent to you – your membership is not yet validated. Our system is set up so people cannot be joined up against their will.
You can contact our team only after following these steps:
1. Check Your email for the validation email. Also check your SPAM box... it may have ended up in there.
2. Add “poprepublic.tv” to your safe lists in your email program, that will ensure you get important emails from us... we require alot of your approvals for activities, so you must be able to communicate with us.
3. If you cannot find your validation email, then contact our team using the ‘contact us’ form in the main menu.
My address is getting emails and I never subscribed.
We abhor spam emails, and never add anyone without their express permission – in fact, we only accept members who sign up themselves – and on the rare occasion sign up on a sign up sheet and event, where internet connection is not possible.
We suggest that your first talk to your family and friends and ask them if they used your details. Cheeky members of the public like to enter our competitions, and vote for their favourite stars, religiously – our polls and awards are some of the hottest and most respected around – so fans can get a tad competitive sometimes. They do know this is clearly against the rules – but there is no telling some people – so please double check first, as most times you are the only person that can unsubscribe your account. In the event of being subscribed you can always use the unsubscribe option on our emails, or if ALL ELSE fails use the contact form on the ‘contact us’ page, and select the correct method of contact.
If you do not do it that way, we cannot help you – this is also to avoid silly people taking down other peoples genuine accounts.
I cannot access some of your videos on demand.
A video has disappeared from a top story / feature / content item.
Most of our Video On Demand is for subscribed members only (that’s free signed up members to the website). In most cases, if you cannot access videos – or they will not play on your computer, it is a system problem at your end. We use all types of video streaming, from Quicktime, to Windows Media Player and Flash. We suggest your visit the sites of the video type you cant play and download the “plugin”.
If a video is removed from our service, you will no longer see the page for that video either.
Some video on our site (mainly in our top stories) may be streamed and sourced from external sites. Whilst we endeavour to keep up with the video streaming in those sections, it is out of our control to keep video online if say provided through sites like Youtube or dailymotion. Normally this video is supplied through our site for review and comment purposes. We do not own the copyright so cannot control the length of time it may exist.
