Interview: Chaz Robinson

Emerging artist Chaz Robinson has been making waves in the USA since his debut album dropped a couple of weeks ago - signed to Spectra records, he has appeared on MTV's America's Best Dance Crew: Season 5, MTV's MADE, the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Disney's Shake It Up, La Grande Cabaret du Monde: France, and Broadway's Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy.

Now promoting his solo recording debut, Chaz caught up with's Rob for this quick chat.

In three words or less, describe yourself.
Can I do three letters? O-C-D. lol. If not, I’d say: Driven. Passionate. Detailed.

What would be your ultimate date?
I’ve always wanted to go on a “destination date.” Preferably Paris. You know — just buzz on over the pond for French food, wine, the Louvre, and home before my date turns back into a mouse at midnight.

And who would that date be with? (lol)
Can I trade it for a “date” with Capitol Records? ;-)

You have been no stranger to tv in the states... out of the shows you have been on - what was your favourite and why?
Ellen DeGeneres. I have always been a huge fan and it was so surreal to be invited on the show. Not to mention, Ellen treated us like total rockstars!

Is singing your first love? if not, what was?
Singing has always been my first love…with french fries coming in at a close second.

You started young, do you have any advice for other performers who might be wanting a career like yours?
The music industry can be a scary place. NEVER stop believing in yourself or your craft. Don't let anyone slow you down or make you believe that your talent isn’t enough. But first and foremost — never underestimate the power of hard work and dedication.

How would you introduce yourself to someone who hasn't heard your music?
I’d introduce myself as a hopelessly optimistic electronic pop artist with powerhouse vocals, a special detail to musicality, and a jump rope. (I happen to be a professional jump roper, too! haha)

You are on a label that is home to the likes of CeCe Peniston and the Little River Band - who would you duet with out of anyone in the music world and why?
JessieJ. She is one of the most incredibly talented artists our industry has to offer and it would be an absolute dream-come-true to work with her.

ok, now for some quick questions so folks can know even more about you... think fast...
