Supanova fans say poor communication cost them the chance to meet their idols

31 October 2026
Written by Robert Manser

Hundreds of fans attending Supanova Brisbane say they have been left disappointed after missing out on photo tokens because they were not properly notified when sales opened.

Supanova Brisbane will be held from 6 to 8 November 2026 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. Many attendees purchased tickets specifically for the opportunity to meet, photograph and collect autographs from their favourite actors and artists. However, fans say they were unable to secure photo tokens because information about their release was either unclear, difficult to find or not communicated in time.

For people who had already paid for travel, accommodation and admission, the missed opportunity has been especially frustrating. Some fans say they regularly checked Supanova’s website and social media pages but did not receive a clear announcement telling them when photo tokens would go on sale. By the time they discovered the tokens were available, allocations had reportedly sold out.

The disappointment has been made worse by what fans describe as a lack of support from the event organisers. Enquiries sent through customer service channels have allegedly gone unanswered, while questions and complaints posted on social media have received little or no response.

Supanova’s official ticket information promotes photo and autograph opportunities with guests, while noting that additional fees apply. Fans say they understood that photographs would cost extra. Their concern is that they were not given a fair or reliable opportunity to purchase the tokens in the first place.

For many attendees, meeting a favourite celebrity can be a once in a lifetime experience. Fans plan their budgets and travel around these moments, often spending hundreds or thousands of dollars to attend. They say timely communication should be a basic part of delivering the event.

The complaints have prompted calls for Supanova to improve its customer support, provide clear sales dates and notify ticket holders directly before photo tokens are released. Fans are also asking the organisers to acknowledge the issue and explain whether any remedy will be offered to those who missed out.

With the Brisbane convention approaching, attendees say they want more than promotional announcements. They want accurate information, accessible support and a response from the organisation responsible for making their experience worthwhile.
