A new action-drama film is set to hit U.S. cinemas on April 10, 2026, bringing a high-stakes mixed martial arts story to the big screen with a star-studded Australian-led cast.
Titled BEAST, the R-rated feature is directed by Tyler Atkins and written by David Frigerio and Russell Crowe. The film follows a former MMA champion forced out of retirement when his younger brother’s life is threatened, setting the stage for a brutal final showdown.
Leading the cast is Daniel MacPherson alongside Luke Hemsworth, Bren Foster, Amy Shark, Mojean Aria, Kelly Gale, and Crowe. The Oscar-winning actor, recognised for his performance in Gladiator (2000), also contributed to the screenplay.
Producers John Schwarz, Frigerio, Michael Schwarz, and Tim O’Hair have assembled the project under Grindstone Entertainment Group, in collaboration with multiple production houses including Broken Open Pictures and Deeper Water Films.
The film centres on themes of legacy, redemption, and family loyalty, with the protagonist reuniting with his former trainer in a bid to reclaim his reputation. Facing a dominant and ruthless title-holder, the ex-champion must confront both physical and emotional limits in a fight billed as his last chance at redemption.
With its combination of established talent, intense fight sequences, and dramatic narrative, Cage Redemption is positioned as a major entry in the 2026 action slate.
