Mariah Carey drops new music today.

Today, Mariah Carey, the elusive chanteuse and best-selling female artist of all time with over 200 million records sold, has released “Type Dangerous,” the lead single from her upcoming 16th studio album, her first in 7 years. Listen HERE. This release kicks off a brand new era of her musical legacy.
Mariah produced the single alongside N.W.I. and Daniel Moore. “Type Dangerous” samples “ERIC B IS PRESIDENT” by Eric B. & Rakim, blending Mariah’s powerful vocals with a classic hip hop beat, creating what is sure to be a summertime anthem.
“I’m so excited to finally be releasing “Type Dangerous” into the world!” shares Carey, “I’ve been locked up in the studio for quite some time working my behind off on new music, and I’m thrilled for the unveiling of it to my fans, starting with “Type Dangerous!”
Mariah will also release a music video for “Type Dangerous” soon, bringing back iconic music video director Joseph Kahn, who previously directed Mariah’s videos for “#Beautiful” and “All I Want for Christmas Is You”. Most recently, they collaborated on the viral “It’s Time” video, kicking off the festive season celebrations.
The teaser for “Type Dangerous” sparked a social media frenzy among fans, incredibly eager to hear new music. All across social media fans have been clamoring for this release, hoping for as much Mariah as they can get.
This release comes just in time for Mariah’s upcoming acceptance of the BET Ultimate Icon Award on Monday, June 9th, celebrating her status as one of the greatest pop artists of all time. Mariah will also be performing live in just over a week, taking the stage as headliner at Capital’s Summertime Ball on Sunday, June 15th at Wembley Stadium.
